Consalia, in collaboration with Middlesex University, have launched a seamless progression pathway that allows graduates of the Level 4 Sales Executive Apprenticeship to enter directly into the second year of our Level 6 B2B Sales Degree Apprenticeship. This newly-introduced route accelerates the journey to a full degree, enabling learners to complete the qualification in just two years instead of three, without repeating content they have already mastered.
This initiative, which we are naming L4 Advance - Professional Sales Advancement to BSc (Level 6), is an acknowledgement of the knowledge, skills, and workplace experience gained during the Level 4 programme. Through a formal process of Recognised Prior Learning (RPL), Level 4 graduates will have their development to date taken into account as they continue their learning journey. This pathway is therefore one of the few academically validated, work-based progression routes in the UK specifically tailored to the sales profession.
As sales becomes increasingly professionalised and demand grows for strategic thinking, critical analysis, and reflective leadership within commercial roles, organisations are under pressure to offer structured development pathways for their early-career talent. This model answers that call. It bridges the gap between fundamental skills and strategic capability, offering learners and employers alike a tangible route to sustained growth.
Delivered through a combination of workplace application and academic rigour, the Level 6 Apprenticeship is underpinned by Consalia’s Sales Mindsets and reflective learning framework. Level 4 graduates will be supported through a comprehensive virtual induction before starting the syllabus, which prepares them for higher-level academic work with guidance on referencing, coaching models, and research-based thinking. This scaffolding ensures that learners hit the ground running in Year 2, fully equipped for success.
For organisations, this pathway offers an innovative, levy-fundable solution that extends the value of earlier investments in sales apprenticeships. It helps L&D leaders to retain high-potential employees, build an internal succession-planning pipeline, and deepen sales excellence across the business. The pathway also provides a competitive advantage: it creates loyal, motivated salespeople who are better equipped to lead, coach, and innovate in complex customer environments.
Already, our Level 6 alumni cohorts are reporting substantial personal and professional growth, with improved confidence, strategic foresight, and measurable business impact. These outcomes have not gone unnoticed by employers. Companies participating in this work-based education model, from tech and telecoms to logistics and financial services, are seeing improved productivity, engagement, and mobility within their sales functions.
This new fast-track option exemplifies a broader shift toward lifelong, integrated learning in the UK workforce. By enabling structured progression from Level 4 to Level 6, the model reinforces apprenticeships as not just an entry point, but a complete and credible development journey for the sales profession.
